Under the bed and on the floor
In that dark place behind the door
Tangled together, one on one
Lie wild socks, designed to run.
Hung on the line they soon fall free
Those stripey wild socks are avoiding me
One in the bush and one in the sun
Lurk wild socks, designed to run.
Pull on a stripe and pull on a plain
Feet can’t tell colour so they won’t complain
Straining free from the feet of my son
Fight those wild socks, designed to run.
Follow that smell and follow your nose
Back into that dark place it goes
Fragranced delight designed to stun
Recline for the night, wild socks who did run.
