Care Beyond Measure has partnered with THE GORDON to deliver accredited training and carer development courses in newly created Learning Centre in Bendigo.
Australia is currently facing a health care crisis. The aging population brings with it an increased demand for personal care which cannot be met by the dwindling workforce of personal carers. The situation is worse in rural and regional areas where young people have moved to the city in search of educational and employment opportunities.
Local Bendigo company Care Beyond Measure (CBM) is addressing both issues.
CBM has partnered with The Gordon Institute of TAFE to launch its own Learning Centre which will offer unique employment and training programs specifically designed to meet the demands of CBM’s clients.
The training programs are nationally accredited and open the doorway to further education and a career path in either Human Services or Allied Health. The programs are a balanced blend of on-the-job training and formal education.
Sam Tayeh, Managing Director of CBM, says” We continue to invest in the development of our people to support the diversified needs of our clients. Our own learning centre staffed with our own trainers will provide us the opportunity to train and up skill our carers to a new level, well above anything that is currently available.”
All training will be conducted in the new Learning Centre which is a purpose-fitted residence to enable practical hands-on training in supporting people inside a typical family home. Students will experience real world situations without having to leave the Learning Centre or the guidance of their instructors.
Students are guaranteed employment on successful completion of the course. The new partnership with The Gordon also means that they are then able to continue their professional development by completing further accredited studies at Deakin University.
The first accredited course commences on February 4th 2013 and will focus on Senior Care.
Interested parties are encouraged to attend one of the information sessions to be held on Tuesday November 27th, 2012 (Session 1 at 10:00 am OR Session 2 at 12:00 pm) at The Capital, 50 View Street, Bendigo.
