If you opened up my brain and looked inside you’d see a mish mash of memories, ideas, half forgotten facts and a whole lot of miscellaneous pieces of information. That’s what writing for others does for you. In theory, I should be a star at trivia competitions.
This week we have been helping Saute Pan Recipes with their blog posts and what a strain it has been. Reading about food, looking at food, drooling over food…. You get the picture?
And speaking of pictures, this is one that sent me crazy. It’s Grandma’s Golden Syrup Dumplings with a Citrus Twist. Now tell me that you can focus while something like this is right there under your nose?
My mother used to make golden syrup dumplings because my brother LOVED them. Yes, I did need to use capitals on that word. He had a serious relationship going with the dumplings for a while. These are straight out of my childhood.
And then…
Thai Chicken Meatballs with Mango and Coriander Salsa!
Seriously, how can a woman be expected to work under these conditions?
It’s enough to make me want to venture back into the kitchen – site of dirty dishes and leftovers.
Working with Saute Pan Recipes reminded me of how much I loved cooking way back in the days when I didn’t have to worry about who likes or dislikes what. I am about to inflict a new level of culinary genius upon my family. I can’t wait to see who survives.
So, that is what happened to me last week to change my world. What happened for you?
